WILCOX Patriot

The Patriot, designed by Wilcox Industries and distributed by Safety Systems for the past two years is a state of the art Land Based Hybrid Life Support System that was designed for operators, by operators. This hybrid SCBA system is the only system in its class that can deliver blower or non blower assisted filtered air (PAPR) or open circuit breathing gas (SCBA) in one wholly integrated system. The PATRIOT has been tested and approved to operate in CBRN contaminated environments by the US Department of Defense.

The PATRIOT operation is relatively simple for a sophisticated piece of machinery. The mode selection switch allows the operator to switch breathing modes between a blower assisted PAPR mode (snorkel up), non blower assisted covert mode (snorkel up) and a SCBA mode (snorkel down). The PATRIOT is required to operate in conjunction with a chemical mask with a positive pressure outlet valve to operate.
