1. Put on safety glasses.
  2. Clear weapon.
  3. Remove grips.
  4. Remove front sight roll pin.
  5. Remove gas tube using gas tube removal tool
  6. Install chamber. Chamber must be fully inserted into front sight with hole in front sight aligned with roll pin hole in chamber.
  7. Hold weapon securely in vise and install roll pin (see photo Fig. 1), which will secure chamber to front sight.

  8. Insert piston (Fig. 2).

  9. Verify that barrel nut is properly aligned along gas tube path.
  10. Insert push rod by inserting through gas tube path (in receiver) allowing push rod to
    connect to gas key on the bolt carrier. If necessary rotate push rod for appropriate
    clearance during installation. The flat on the push rod must be facing up to allow
    insertion into the piston (Fig. 3). Engage push rod into piston.


  11. Rotate pushrod to align hole in piston (be sure flat on pushrod facing up). Install piston
    retaining clip.
  12. Insert valve into chamber with notch facing up (Fig. 4).

  13.  Insert valve retaining clip (Fig 5).

  14. Verify that motion of piston is smooth and not binding.
  15. Reinstall grips.
